The 50km Feast is a top end dining experience that indulges the tastebuds of locally sourced ingredients cooked by iconic Territory chefs and celebrating Territory lifestyle.

Exclusive to 200 guests, the annual dinner hosts a selection of courses all sourced across the Territory, sometimes a little further than 50km. Served under the stars at Freds Pass Reserve, the event supports the Freds Pass Rural Show on the eve of their annual May event. Imagine great outback stories and good conversations across that table, tasting the best ingredients that inspire our region.

Freds Pass Rural Show 2020

Due to increased concerns around COVID-19 and the Australian Government's advice against “holding ‘outdoor’ events of 500 people or more”, the Freds Pass Rural Show committee has taken the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 event. Due to a combination of artist, venue and logistics availabilities, the Show cannot be postponed for later in 2020 and will now focus on working closely with our event partners for an amazing 2021 event. The cancellation also extends to the shows award winning “50 km Feast” which was due to take place on the evening of Friday the 15th May.

The safety and well-being of our visitors, performers, volunteers and exhibitors is of paramount importance to the community and out of precaution, and in consultation with Federal and Northern Territory authorities, the committee has decided this is the best course of action to maximise protection to the community.

We appreciate that the cancellation of the show is a huge disappointment for our show community, particularly our loyal exhibitors, livestock competitors, community groups and visitors from across the NT and Australia, who love attending Freds Pass Rural Show annually to catch up with friends, compete and celebrate ’all things rural’ during the event.

We encourage patrons to be part of next year’s event, and reassure exhibitors and ticket holders, including the 50km Feast, that their existing tickets will be valid for the 2021 dates however if they are unable to attend, they are eligible for a full refund. Please contact your point of purchase to arrange this. Further information will be available on our website within the next two working days.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as our team works through the logistics and issues that come with cancelling an event of this scale and complexity.
